Totally didn’t make the quilt. I started it and then something happened with the bobbin and I got intimidated and bailed. Maybe I’ll take a sewing class when Dev starts school again… Anyway, we spent a wonderful week in Florida with Tommy’s family. The highlights for me were Butter Beer (at Harry Potter, Universal Studios) and the Beach (Clearwater, Gulf of Mexico) We spent 3 hours swimming in the sea, licking salt off our lips and shell searching. It was one of those rare moments in life where you feel like you were doing what you were made to do… And then wild dolphins came up and swam within 20 feet of us. Not even kidding. I am so thankful for that day and thankful for each little moment that made it so memorable.

I have a confession. I love Easter candy. I won’t admit exactly how many cadbury eggs I’ve consumed… but let’s just say it was a lot. When else do you throw jelly beans at the bottom of a basket and eat them for weeks - not being wrapped or packaged or anything???? This picture is of Dev after she found her final clue leading her to the Easter basket… yes it was in the egg carton in the fridge, I’m festive!

I keep searching blogs to find someone talking about miscarriage. It’s hard to find. It’s only on medical sites or on online communities where you can read about what to expect and how long recovery is said to last, but nothing on what the mom experiences.

My need for external validation is exemplified when I find myself searching with desperation to name what it is I am feeling. To read for myself that other women survive and come out on the other side of this awful, hole producing ache.

Far as the Curse is Found

Joy to the world, the Lord is come!
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven, and Heaven, and nature sing.

Joy to the earth, the Savior reigns!
Let men their songs employ;
While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy.

No more let sins and sorrows grow,
Nor thorns infest the ground;
He comes to make His blessings flow
Far as the curse is found,
Far as the curse is found,
Far as, far as, the curse is found.

He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders, wonders, of His love.

I cried I was laughing so hard. “You’re so rude”

This is Dev at her baptism this year - quite a monumental moment for our little family. I’m amazed that her little heart is filled with such a faith and acceptance that extends not only to God but to others as well.
